From Antiparos (Aegean sea) - BIOROCK were approached by the operators of a new resort with 16 villas (each of them has a pool) and a central building with restaurant. One of the major problems was the lack of space available. The BIOROCK solution was a MULTIROCK system with the compact and highly efficient ECOROCK-5000 which takes up a surprisingly small area on site.
A wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 22.000 liters of waste water per day was required. Another challenge was the high or peak load as it will only take place for about six months in the summer leaving the remainder of the year with very low loads, a difficult problem for most wastewater treatment systems. BIOROCK specialise in extremely flexible septic systems aided by their unique BIOROCK filter media which retains moisture and allows wastewater treatment to continue during low use periods.
The BIOROCK distribution partner for theese Greek Islands worked hard to configure a treatment solution that could handle these high loads yet still perform in the winter months, sizing the treatment plant with care they established that a system using a large 70m3 primary tank and 4x BIORIOCK-5000 treatment plants and a flow control system was the answer to the challenges set by the site.
